Your home away from home
Found in 2012, opened in 2014, and run personally ever since — a small family resort facing Apo Island.

2012
A small piece of seashore
The idea was simple and stubborn: a home by the sea, away from the city hassle, but never so far that life becomes a logistics problem. In 2012 the owners found it — a stretch of shore in Zamboanguita with Apo Island on the horizon, forty-five minutes from Dumaguete, within an hour of the airport, the ferries and the shops. They built a residence first, then a modest resort around it, and opened the gate to guests in 2014.

Built like home
Native materials, modern comfort
The resort grew the way good houses do: deliberately. Bungalows under thatch with stone-trimmed porches, a garden threaded with paths, woven bamboo ceilings in the restaurant — and behind the native skin, the things that make a stay easy: air-conditioning, hot showers, proper beds. Ten rooms across four bungalow styles, never more. Small is the feature.

Still personal
Fifteen people, one shoreline
Kav's runs on a team of fifteen and the family that started it. That scale shows up in the details guests write about: the kitchen remembering an allergy, the towels folded into swans, the desk that answers questions about Apo Island with opinions rather than pamphlets. 'Your home away from home' was the promise on day one; it has not needed updating.

A sample day
The unhurried hours
Nothing here is mandatory and nothing needs reserving more than a day ahead. This is simply how a Tuesday tends to go.
- 6:30The kitchen opens; divers eat first and catch the boat to Apo
- 9:00Breakfast proper, shakes included, no hurry whatsoever
- 11:00Snorkelling off the beach, or the pool, or the jacuzzi — all count
- 15:00Siesta hours: air-conditioning indoors, hammock shade outdoors
- 17:30Bean bags out on the sand, sundowners at the beach bar
- 19:00Dinner under the woven bamboo, cooked to order
- 21:00The kitchen closes; the dartboard and the stars do not
The plan was never to build the biggest resort on the coast. It was to build the one that feels like coming back.
